NOD calls to establish an Arab CSOs Alliance against Israeli violations in Gaza
The National Center for Human Rights and Democratic Development (NOD)and Cultural Bridges Forum (CBF) in Yemen call the Arab civil society organizations CSOs to establish an alliance against Israeli violations in Gaza. The Yemeni organization has sent invitations to many of Arab CSOs for an urgent meeting in Sana’a before the 20th of January .The meeting will discuss new mechanisms to work against Israeli attack on Gaza which led to the killing of more than 700 people, half of them children. More than 80 Arab organizations has agreed to participate so far .

ECD calls for proposal for human rights and democracy
The European Commission Delegation (ECD) in Yemen has launched the Call for Proposals 2008 under the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights. The call for proposals is only open for local organizations, but international NGOs may act as partners. Concept notes under this call can be submitted to the Delegation until 26 January 2009. Projects should have a budget between EUR 20.000 and EUR 250.000 with 20% co-financing. Actions may have a duration between 6-18 months. An information meeting will be organized and advertised in local newspapers later this month.

NOD - Middle East Partnership Initiative MEPI and Management Systems International has organized a meeting with number of Yemeni human rights and democracy NGOs today in Sana'a. Representatives of the tow organizations discussed with the participants the challenges and the ambitions of the civil society organizations in Yemen and their role to develop the democratic experience process in the country. Thru the meeting many NGOs representatives discussed the obstructions and asked for support to enhance their programs .MEPI and MSI team have two weeks program in Yemen to meet other NGOs , political parties and activist.
